Bharat Explosives Limited (BEL), is a leading manufacturer of high energy explosives and fuels for defence and civil use. BEL has been associated with DRDO and its labs since 1998 and has played a key role in the indigenous development of various high energy materials and fuels.

Our best-in-class manufacturing facility is located on National Highway #44, at Lalitpur, UP (in between Jhansi and Sagar) on the large campus measuring around 1,000 acres. Well connected by road and rail, away from habitation, with ample scope for expansion. With an unblemished safety track record and availability of infrastructure, our unit includes trained manpower along with an in-house R&D unit. Our corporate office is located in Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

BEL’s Industrial explosive unit has been manufacturing a diverse range of industrial explosives used in the mining sector since 1992. These include all types of small DIA-permitted emulsion explosives, non-permitted emulsion explosives and large DIA slurry explosives.

BEL’s defence unit specialise in production of High Energy materials and fuels, with 25 years of experience in the research and development of High energy materials and fuels in association with DRDO. We are pioneers in undertaking GOCO projects with Defence Organisations for more than 15 years.

Extending its research forte to the pharma sector, BEL set up a dedicated pharma facility in 2004. This facility is USFDA approved. This unit manufactures variants of Nitroglycerin drug substances by diluting neat nitroglycerin in various inert mediums. Our manufacturing plant includes a fully-automated remote-controlled nitroglycerin manufacturing unit.
